PNEUMATIC ELECTRODE HANDLING · 3R / EROWA COMPATIBLE

Grip maintained
if air is lost.

Spring-locked, pneumatically-opened electrode gripper built for unattended mold-machining cells — continuous position feedback, sub-0.15s switching, and self-locking hold with zero air pressure.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Pneumatic opening,
spring-return closing.

The gripper opens on compressed air and closes under spring force — meaning the electrode stays clamped even through an unexpected air interruption. Two integrated magnetic sensors report open and closed state back to the control system in real time.

01 — AIR SUPPLIED

Compressed air moves the piston to open the fingers. Typical supply pressure is 0.5–0.7 MPa.

02 — AIR REMOVED

The return spring retracts the piston and closes the fingers. The electrode remains clamped without air pressure.

Power-loss stability

Spring-closed design reduces drop risk during an unexpected air interruption.

Fast cycles

Open/close switching ≤0.15s under no-load test conditions.

Integrated confirmation

Two position sensors report open and closed states to the control system.

ROBOT INTEGRATION

Two practical ways to connect.

A — TOOL-CHANGER INTEGRATION
COLLET GRIPPER TOOL CHANGER ROBOT WRIST

Robot picks the electrode gripper from a tool station when required — ideal for flexible, multi-process cells. Compatible with standardized automation pull studs used in 3R and EROWA workflows.

B — DIRECT ROBOT MOUNTING
COLLET GRIPPER END-LINK ROBOT WRIST

An end-link block connects the gripper directly to the robot flange — for a dedicated, single-process cell where tool-changing isn't required.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this gripper compatible with EROWA systems?

Yes — it's compatible with standardized automation pull studs used in both 3R and EROWA workflows.

What happens if air pressure is lost?

The spring-return design keeps the electrode clamped even without air pressure, reducing drop risk during an unexpected interruption.

Can this be used with a tool changer?

Yes — it supports both tool-changer integration and direct robot mounting via an end-link block.
